Five College Women's Studies Research Centre Calls For Applications

The Centre invites applications for its RESEARCH ASSOCIATESHIPS for 2011-2012 from scholars and teachers at all levels of the educational system, as well as from artists, community organizers and political activists, both local and international. Associates are provided with offices in our spacious facility, faculty library privileges, and the collegiality of a diverse community of feminists. Research Associate applications are accepted for either a semester or the academic year and also accept about 15-18 Research Associates per year.

The Five College Women’s Studies Research Centre was founded in 1991 as a site for scholarly activity on issues relating to women and gender. Located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, it is supported by a consortium of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The five institutions have a thirty-five year history of cooperation and innovation in higher education and boast of one of the largest concentrations of women’s studies scholars anywhere in the world. The Centre supports projects in all disciplines so long as they focus centrally on women or gender.
Research Associateships do not provide a stipend.

APPLICATION AND DEADLINE
Applicants are required to submit a project proposal (up to 4 pages), curriculum vitae, two letters of reference and on-line application cover form. All applications are to be submitted to: Five College Women's Studies Research Center, Mount Holyoke College, 50 College Street, South Hadley, MA 01075-6406.
Project proposals and letters of recommendation should be submitted on or before the deadline- February 7, 2011. Applications received by February 7 will receive full consideration, late applications will not be considered.
